AMA Endorses House Health Care Bill!

The American Medical Association, in a stunning turn-a-round, stated its support of House Bill H.R. 3200, a comprehensive health care reform bill that includes “the establishment and administration of a public health insurance option as an exchange-qualified health benefits plan.”
As recently as last month, The New York Times reported reported that the AMA opposed a government-sponsored insurance plan, saying that health insurance should come from the private market. This announcement is nothing short of amazing.

Tell me I’m reading this wrong. The AMA is supporting the Healthcare Reform Bill in it’s present state here on July 17, 2009. Are they crazy? Most of them will have their doors closed forever. It will be a travisty. I am shocked that this organization would support such a Bill. Shame on them and they deserve what is about to happen to them for doing this.
